THE GROUNDS

Salmon Valley Campground, is located along the Salmon River.  We are  25 minutes North of Prince George, British Columbia just off of Highway 97, a popular route to Alaska.  We open our gates for the season starting the third week of may (or May Long Weekend, river dependent) and say farewell to the camping season late September 29, 2019.  If you would like to reserve a spot for May-long weekend, please connect with us to have your name added to our waitlist.   As we are a riverside campground, much of our season depends on the river and its water levels in the spring and early summer.

Imagine waking up in the morning, surrounded by beautiful old growth trees, the sound of birds and the sights and sounds of the river.  There is something very peaceful about our little paradise that allows you to relax and unwind.

There are 34 campsites, some located along the river and the rest are tucked into a stunning old growth forest.  At this time, we have 8 sites that have water and a 15 amp electrical service and 2 sites that have water and 30 amp service with more to come in the future.   We have several back-in and a few pull-through sites, some with privacy and others that are great for small groups.  If you are not interested in camping, but looking to have a fun day by the river, we have a few sites that are perfect for day use for a family picnic.

Our shower house has flushing toilets, free hot showers, and an area to freshen up.    A sani-dump is also located on the property for your convenience and is free for guests.  We have purposely made the decision to NOT offer wifi at the campsites.  We want our guests to disconnect from technology and connect with each other and nature.  We will be offering wifi at the office for guests needing to check emails and social media or look into things to do around the area.  Cellular coverage is excellent in this area.

If the kids are wanting treats or you do not want to run into town for items you may have forgotten, visit our little seasonal store on site to restock.  We have ice cream and other treats, a selection of grocery items,  ice and wood also available for purchase.  We also have a little cafe to pick up some specialty coffee beverages from Atlin Mountain Roasters, right hear in Northern BC and baked goods from some incredible local bakers.

In the coming years, we will be updating and adding some new amenities to the grounds and doing some maintenance to the campground and each of the sites.  This is a big task, and we appreciate your patience.  We wanted to create a convenient way for our guests to book their camping experience.  We now have a on-line booking system with photos that will help you better plan your camping experience and reserve your favorite spot for the season.   You have the option to book nightly or save some money and book for an entire week (or two).  We are here to assist you with your reservations, and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions or need assistance.
