COVID-19 Update

May 20, 2020

As our Province has now shifted into Phase 2 of the Re-Start Plan, we have the go ahead to open for the season.  On May 28th, we will be starting our 2020 season.  YAY!  It is going to be a little bit different, but the season is going ahead.  We are excitedly nervous, as we want to do everything we can to keep our campground safe for our guests, staff and our family.  For this to happen, we need your help.  There are a lot of requirements of every business to have safe policies and practices in place prior to open.

Firstly, the way in which you have camped in previous seasons has changed.  Specifically, at our campground, the following changes will be in affect when it comes to staying with us.  As the risk level minimizes, some of these policies may be lifted.

  • NO DRIVE-UP RESERVATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.  All reservations must be made in advance through our reservation system on our website or by calling our office.

  • MINIMUM OF 2 NIGHT STAY.  We want to keep our guest turnover to a minimum and at this time, we will not be accepting one night reservations unless you are an essential worker traveling (please contact our office).

  • LOCAL GUESTS .  From the Prince George and surrounding area.  We will make exceptions for those guests from Northern BC attending medical appointments.

  • Guests booked MUST be self-sufficient with water and bathroom facilities in their unit.  No tents, pop up tents, tent trailers, campers at this time, as our wash house is closed.

  • CONTACTLESS CHECK-IN.  The office will be closed.  You will receive instructions prior to your check in.

  • NO VISITORS.  Only Registered guests will be permitted into the campground.

  • Each group in a campsite must be from ONE household unit.

  • Additionally, each household group must maintain 2 metres social distancing from other household groups. No gatherings of more than six people in a campsite are allowed at any time.

  • Maintain 6 feet between other campers and their dogs.

  • If you or anyone in your party are not feeling well, please contact us to re-book your stay with us.

As with all businesses, we want to ease into our opening and respect recommendations by our government officials and health authorities.  As we move towards Phase 3, many of the above policies and practices may begin to ease.  The safety of everyone on our property is our top priority.

Thank you to all of you who have booked a stay with us, we truly are so incredibly grateful for your support.  We know you are excited to join us and we are excited to see you.  Our store and coffee bar will remain closed for the time being, but we are eager to start serving up our famous coffee beverages and baked treats.

How are all of you doing out there?  These past two months have been an absolute roller coaster.  We know that many of you are REALLY looking forward to getting out camping, and we don't blame you, especially with all this gorgeous weather.

We heard a few days ago, that our Province will be re-opening slowly and we are cautiously excited about the plan.  What does this mean for camping with us?  As encouraged by Dr. Henry, we want to ease into re-opening.  There are a lot of things to consider as we open our gates with our new reality and the safety of you, your family, our staff and family are top priority.  We are still working out the details on what camping will look like, please be patient as we maneuver through this new reality.

We are in the process of working on new COVID-19 Safety Policies and Practices and any guests who will be staying with us will be expected to respect these policies and practices.  We do not want to have to police our guests, however, we have a responsibility to keep all guests safe.  We take the recommendations from our Health Officials very seriously and will ask our guests to do the same.  Here are some of the policies that will be put into place for all of our guests at this time.  Please note, these can change at any given time as new information is provided by our health officials.

We hope that you and your family are all doing well during this difficult time.

We are now two weeks away from our planned opening weekend. With much thought, heartache and tears, we have made the difficult decision that our opening day of May 15th will not be going ahead. We have looked at ways to make our planned opening happen, however, between COVID-19 and higher than average river levels, it would not be the right decision.

With yesterday's extension of our Province's State of Emergency, we have not had any clear messaging on how this will impact recreational camping. We felt that we needed to make a decision. We know many of you will start looking at insuring your trailers and RV's, de-winterizing and planning your May long weekend. We want to give you as much notice as possible. Our number one priority is the safety of all of you and our family. We want to continue to do our part to prevent the spread of this virus. We know that camping is far safer than making a trip to the grocery store. Unfortunately, it is all the trips that we make to prepare for our camping trips, that put you and others at risk for the spread of this virus.

When we will open?   We do not know with 100% certainty, as announcements by the Province are changing daily.  At this time, we will be moving our opening to May 28th.  If you would like to make a reservation you can still do so online, by email or phone.  We will collect your credit card information, however, no deposit will be applied until we near a guaranteed opening.

We know that all of you were looking forward to a change of scenery and to have a local staycation, while maintaining social distancing.  We were looking forward to having you all here.  Camping will happen and we do not want one or two weekends early on in all of this, ruin camping for the rest of the summer.

We cannot thank you enough for your support and understanding through this difficult time. Our thoughts go out to all of you who are feeling the impacts of this pandemic.  We hope to see you all soon, because we miss our guests so very much.   Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Bobbi & Frank

We hope that those reading this are well and managing through this difficult time.  Thank you to all of you who are doing your part to follow recommendations to social distance and avoid any unnecessary travel.

Frank and I have spent a lot of time trying to sort out what our 2020 season is going to look like.  We were so very excited going into our third season, and with all the uncertainty, we have had to take a serious look at what our season will now look like.  We have had a number of our wonderful couples who were planning on getting married this summer postpone their weddings to next year.  We have had our wonderful international travelers excited to visit our beautiful country have to cancel their trip.  We know how they were looking forward to staying with us, and we send all of them some extra love.

None of us know what the next month, six months or year will look like.  In planning out our season, we cannot guarantee what that will look like.  We will continue to take reservations for June, July, August and September, but will no longer be taking a deposit at the time of booking.  You will still be required to enter your credit card information, however, the deposit will be processed closer to your stay and you will receive a receipt to show payment.   To make a reservation, head over to book a site.

We thank all of you for your love and support and wanting so badly to stay with us.  We will keep you posted.

Please be patient with us as we maneuver through these unprecedented times.

As many of you may have already heard, the Province has made the decision to close all provincial trails and parks until May 31st. This is devastating news to outdoor enthusiasts who are using these areas to get outside and still maintain social distancing.

At this time, this announcement does not affect our opening of May 15th, however, as we have seen, new announcements are surfacing daily that are impacting individuals and small businesses across the country. We want to do our part to keep covid-19 from spreading and we also see the importance of being outdoors and camping is for our mental health.

We believe that we can provide a safe space for those local campers who have a trailer or RV with a washroom and who will commit to social distancing from their accommodation unit and campsite.

For the month of May and possibly into June, we will be closing any common areas around the campground. This includes the wash house. Our office will remain closed to the public and we are working on a safe check-in process. We are looking at the option of having a few grocery items, wood, ice and the coffee bar with a contactless delivery to your site. We will be creating covid-19 camping policies that you will need to read and acknowledge understanding and will receive these policies prior to your arrival.

With the wash house closure, we will not be able to accommodate those with tents, tent trailers, camper vans and any other accommodation unit that does not have a working washroom. For the month of May, and possibly into June, we will ask those travelers from outside of Prince George to stay home and support one of your local campgrounds. We will be in contact with you to move your reservation or offer you a refund. The campground will be closed to day-use visitors and only registered campers with a reservation will be permitted in the campground

We are full for the May-long weekend and have closed on-line reservations for the month of May as well as June.  . If you would like to book a site in May or June, please contact us at the office 250-971-2223 or email for availability and to book a spot.

Our number one priority is the safety of our guests and our family. We cannot thank you enough for your support and understanding through this difficult time. Our thoughts go out to all of you who are feeling the impacts of this pandemic. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about your reservation
